A 40-year-old woman from Logan Reserve in Queensland, Australia, is facing charges of neglect and torture in connection with a 10-year-old girl who has been hospitalized for nearly three months. The woman is accused of failing to provide necessary care to the child and inflicting torture. The girl was admitted to Brisbane’s Queensland Children’s Hospital on February 9, where she was found to be severely dehydrated, malnourished, and with untreated injuries. Currently, the girl remains in stable condition in the ICU as confirmed by Queensland Police.

In a separate incident, in the Northern Territory, police discovered the body of a missing five-year-old girl named Kumanjayi Little Baby. She went missing on April 25 from a home near Alice Springs in the Australian outback. Following the discovery of her body on April 30, riots broke out after the apprehension of a suspect believed to be responsible for her abduction and murder. The suspect, Jefferson Lewis, 47, was found by police at Charles Creek Camp, where a crowd had already taken matters into their own hands by assaulting him. The incident led to chaos in the community, with emotions running high.
