The parents of talented darts player Beau Greaves shared the story of her early start in the sport, recalling how she began playing with darts at the age of 10 and quickly started outperforming world champions by the age of 15.
Known as ‘Beau ‘n’ Arrow,’ Greaves made history by becoming the first woman to claim a PDC ranking title, triumphing over Michael Smith in an intense 8-7 final at the Player’s Championship 11 in Milton Keynes. Her remarkable victory included a clutch 142 checkout in the deciding leg, leaving her in awe of her achievement.
Greaves’ parents, Tracy and David, recounted how she discovered her talent for darts at their home in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, while still in primary school. Introduced to the game by watching her older brother Taylor play, Greaves quickly displayed exceptional accuracy with the darts, impressing her family with her natural talent.
Despite minimal practice, Greaves excelled in local competitions and eventually earned her tour card in January, allowing her to compete against the top male players worldwide. Her journey to success has taken her across Europe, Australia, and Japan, where she continues to showcase her skills and defeat renowned players.
Reflecting on her recent triumph at Milton Keynes, Greaves expressed her joy and disbelief at defeating renowned players like Gary Anderson and Michael Smith. Her emotional victory marked a significant milestone in her career, instilling confidence in her ability to compete at the highest level and pursue further success on television.
Greaves’ dedication and innate talent have propelled her to become a three-time WDF Women’s World Champion and a rising star in the world of darts, with her parents and fans eagerly anticipating her future achievements on the professional circuit.
