A woman has garnered attention online for appearing to take multiple wine bottles during the chaos at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. The incident took place following gunfire at the event held at the Washington Hilton on Saturday night.
An armed individual, identified as 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen from California, allegedly breached a security checkpoint outside the main ballroom carrying a shotgun, a handgun, and several knives.
Despite the tense situation, one woman, whose identity remains unknown, was seen prioritizing gathering bottles rather than evacuating. She, wearing a long black fur coat, headed straight to a table to collect the untouched alcohol in the ballroom due to the early timing of the shooting.
The woman’s intentions regarding the alcohol, whether already purchased or not, are unclear, with no indications of any misconduct. Nevertheless, footage of the incident quickly spread online, sparking mixed reactions among viewers.
While some criticized the act as unethical, others found humor or justification in it. The incident led to debates online, with conflicting opinions on the ethics of taking the wine bottles amidst the turmoil.
The armed suspect targeted individuals at the event, including administration officials, according to preliminary investigations. Documents found on the suspect labeled him a “Friendly Federal Assassin” and expressed discontent with current political policies.
