After President Donald Trump made a controversial statement about his age, viewers were left puzzled, with some even labeling him as ‘delusional’. Trump recently introduced new tax legislation in Nevada that exempts workers, including waitstaff, bar managers, and casino employees, from paying taxes on their tips. This initiative, known as the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” also impacts overtime pay regulations.

Moreover, the bill includes provisions that waive taxes on Social Security for senior citizens, benefiting more than 51 million Americans. However, this tax deduction excludes individuals with very low or high incomes. Despite these significant changes, during his announcement, Trump sparked attention by denying his status as a senior citizen, despite being 79 years old.

Trump’s controversial remark, “Seniors are loving me, and I love them. Of course, I’m not a senior, so you know…'”, drew laughter from those present. However, at 79 years old and approaching his 80th birthday in June, Trump technically falls under the senior citizen category in the United States, where individuals aged 65 and above are considered seniors.

Social media users expressed bewilderment at Trump’s assertion, with many questioning his self-identification. While some defended his statement as a joke, others remained skeptical. Criticisms flooded in, highlighting Trump’s age and the discrepancy in his self-perception as not being a senior citizen.

The controversy also reignited speculations about Trump’s mental health, as experts have raised concerns about a perceived decline in his cognitive abilities. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding any health issues affecting the president.
