President Donald Trump praised the recently agreed ceasefire with Iran following his earlier threats, expressing optimism about the potential economic opportunities in the region. The announcement came shortly after a two-week conditional ceasefire was reached, defusing tensions within hours of Trump’s ultimatum to Iran.

Trump lauded the ceasefire as a significant step towards global peace, emphasizing the United States’ role in easing traffic in the Strait of Hormuz and highlighting the potential for substantial economic gains through Iran’s reconstruction efforts. The ceasefire, brokered with the involvement of Israel and Iran, came after a plea from the Pakistani Prime Minister for diplomatic negotiations between the conflicting parties.

Despite his previous ominous warnings to Iran, Trump hailed the ceasefire as a positive development and a crucial move towards peace. He expressed his satisfaction with the progress, stating on Truth Social, “A big day for World Peace! Iran wants it to happen, they’ve had enough! Likewise, so has everyone else!”

Shifting focus to economic prospects, Trump underscored the potential for financial gains, particularly in the oil industry, by stating, “Big money will be made. Iran can start the reconstruction process.” He highlighted the United States’ support in facilitating the flow of goods in the Strait of Hormuz, projecting a positive outlook for the region’s economic future.

The ceasefire agreement remains contingent on further negotiations, with Washington yet to confirm attendance at planned talks in Islamabad. Trump acknowledged Iran’s 10-point proposal for a ceasefire, expressing confidence in its potential for successful negotiations. The two-week period aims to finalize the agreement and address any remaining points of contention between the two nations.
