Celebrity Big Brother star reveals part of living in ITV house that ‘freaked’ him out

Published:

The stars of this year’s Celebrity Big Brother might reckon they’re in for a cushy three-week escape from reality. With the luxury of a swanky bedroom, a high-end bathroom, and a fully-stocked kitchen, it seems like a slice of paradise. But, as expected, the celebs have to navigate the inevitable house drama.

The show has barely kicked off and already Mickey Rourke has departed the show following “further use of inappropriate language” and “instances of unacceptable behaviour”, having previously received a formal warning from Big Brother regarding “unacceptable language and behaviour” towards JoJo Siwa.

A week into the game, the famous faces are likely settling into their temporary home, despite the initial period of adjustment. Bradley Riches, an alum of last year’s Celebrity Big Brother, knows all too well how they’ll be feeling and told all during an interview with the Daily Star.

Chatting before tackling this year’s London Landmarks Half Marathon, the Emmerdale star explained that there are ‘strange’ things to living in the CBB house that take some getting used to. He said: “The first one is you don’t actually see a single soul the whole time you’re there, which is really, really weird.”

He compared it to Love Island, noting how even conversations in the Diary Room are with a voice rather than a person. He added, “Even building sets and stuff, I thought we’d see someone but they lock you in the bedroom and then build it. You can hear all the drilling and all the people speaking. You’re like, ‘This is really weird.'”.

With no contact with the outside world, Bradley revealed that there was an instant that left him ‘freaked out’. He explained: “There was one day where I went into the toilet and I was just doing my business and I could hear people speaking in the camera runs, and it really freaked me out. They’re just talking about, like, what they have for breakfast. It’s like a weird Truman Show.”

Bradley, who appeared on last year’s show, finished in sixth place. In a recent Instagram post he gushed over his experience as he referred to his time in the iconic house as being “unforgettable”. He wrote: “The experience was unforgettable – not just for what I learned about myself but for the incredible people i met along the way. The past year has been so exciting, and I’ve been working on some bucket list projects I hopefully get to share in coming months.”

With this year’s series well and truly underway, all eyes have been on the new celebrity housemates. After Michael Fabricant became the first housemate to be evicted, Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke was the second to leave the show after agreeing to depart the house due to “further use of inappropriate language” and “instances of unacceptable behaviour”.

A spokesperson for ITV said: “Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House this evening following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behaviour.”
