The total number of UK military personnel stands at 173,270, a decrease from previous decades. The UK’s military capabilities include the aircraft carriers HMS Prince of Wales and HMS Queen Elizabeth, equipped with F-35B Lightning fighter jets. The UK’s defense strategy also involves the use of Typhoon Eurofighter jets. In the event of a conflict, the UK would likely call upon NATO support, invoking Article Five, which mandates collective defense among member states.
