Donald Trump’s bombshell tariffs were ridiculed during a hilarious episode of Saturday Night Live this weekend in a sassy White Lotus sketch. The American president, 78, sent the global markets into meltdown last week when he announced his eye-watering tariffs, which have left much of the world reeling.
Mocking the move, the stars of SNL decided to poke fun at the president in a rib-tickling sketch, called ‘White Potus’, based on Sky’s smash-hit White Lotus series. The satirical sketch featured the SNL cast playing Donald, his wife, Melania, sons, Eric and Donald Jr, and daughter, Ivanka, played by Hollywood star, Scarlett Johansson.
As the family sat down to lunch in a tropical paradise, Melania, sporting a hilarious North Carolina accent muses: “Can you imagine if America lost all its money and no-one in the world respected us anymore? Grimacing, Donald gulps loudly, looking on his phone at the news, which reads: “Trump triggers worldwide recession“.
Later in the sketch, RFK Junior pops up suggesting he takes all the fluoride out of the drinking water. An actress pretending to be White Lotus star, British actress, Amy Lou Adams, who has been praised for not altering her gap-toothed smile, then asks, with a mouth full of prosthetics: “Fluoride? What’s that?”

Finally, Trump, sleepwalking, takes out a gun, threatening to “put a 500 percent tariff on China” before finally coming to his senses.
SNL fans loved the satirical offering, with one praising the sketch for being “one best sketches they’ve made in a long time”. Meanwhile, another viewer declared: “The writers COOKED with this one!! Whoever came up with the ‘White Potus’ title deserves an Emmy just for that title!”
Fans are now enjoying a third chapter of Mike White’s hit HBO drama, White Lotus, which sees a fresh batch of affluent guests vacationing in Thailand, with tensions simmering just beneath the surface.
The new cast includes Fallout star Walton Goggins, The Leftovers’ Carrie Coon, Harry Potter star Jason Isaacs and Sex Education’s Aimee Lou Wood.
Aimee’s unique smile has divided fans with many across the pond unsure why she hasn’t opted for the ‘perfect’ Hollywood smile.
However, back in Blighty, fans loved her teeth, as one Reddit user commented: “She’s beautiful. And those teeth seal the deal,” while another added, “I think her teeth are cute. I have a similar.” Others have exclaimed that seeing Aimee on TV is so refreshing compared to the usual Hollywood veneers that seemingly have taken over.
Aimee appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show and discussed the “impact” her gnashers were having on audiences. National treasure, Stephen Fry, started the conversation, saying: “You’ve obviously made an enormous number of people happy by not changing your teeth.
“You know they’re notable like my bent nose. You obviously had a time when some people would have told you, ‘Oh, you should get those corrected, ’ but you stood up for them,” he added.
Saying she couldn’t believe the attention her teeth had garnered in America, Aimee jokingly replied: “I can’t believe the impact my teeth are having. The Americans can’t believe it”.
