Since bursting onto our screens as part of Clarkson’s Farm, Lisa Hogan has become a familiar face for TV fans. And now, in her latest project, Lisa, who is Jeremy Clarkson’s partner, has revealed that she is set to publish her debut book and will give readers a glimpse inside “the nation’s favourite farm” throughout the course of a year.
The book, titled Animals And Other Eejits, will cover happenings from the famous Diddly Squat Farm including lambing season and harvest time. “Barely a day goes by at Diddly Squat without a brilliant or bizarre adventure,” she explained. “I’m so excited to share this book of revelations, tips and trip-ups.”
She added: “It tells the story of a year of crops, breeding, overalls and offspring on the farm, where bale twine is as valuable as a Wall Street commodity. It’s been a joy to write and I’m thrilled to be working with the good people at Penguin Random House to bring it into the world.”
The former model has been in a relationship with ex Top Gear host Jeremy since 2017 after meeting through mutual friends. During an interview on RTÉ Radio, Lisa opened up about the beginnings of their romance and revealed that mutual friends had “tried to set us up a couple of times”, though the turning point for the pair occurred while at a Christmas party together.
“I was just about to leave and we were introduced and he said, ‘No, no, come on, sit down and have a chat’. And that was it, really,” she said, The Sun reports. “So he called me a couple of days later and I thought, ‘Ok, you’ve got a bit of a rep’ — so he had to really court me! He courted me for a solid three months!”
Gushing over Jeremy, she continued: “He’s very, very good company. And he does make an effort to make me laugh a lot, which I really appreciate. And we do get on.”
They pair can be seen together on the Amazon Prime Video series Clarkson’s Farm, where Lisa helps to manage the farm and its shop. As well as her work on the farm, Lisa previously worked in the modelling industry as well as in TV, and had a role in the 1997 film Fierce Creatures alongside John Cleese and Jamie Lee Curtis.
While her time on the big screen might seem glamorous, Lisa has revealed a hair-raising ordeal during a flight from Majorca to London that occurred during a similar time when she was working on the film. Speaking to the Irish Independent, the TV personality explained how, in 1996, she was in an aircraft that landed on the highway and also ploughed through an airfield fence and collided with a van.
“We took off from Palma and I thought everything was fine for a while,” she said. She then recalled how the captain had tried to persuade her to move seats, saying: “The captain had tried to make me sit in a certain part of the plane.”
However, she stood her ground and it possibly saved her life: “I insisted on sitting where I was, which was just as well because that was the area where the van came through when we crashed and I would have been killed instantly,” she explained. Remarkably, she managed to book another flight to return to Majorca mere hours after the incident.
On the farm too, Lisa and Jeremy have experienced their fair share of ups and downs. In his book Diddly Squat: Home to Roost, Jeremy described the heartache they felt when an animal on their farm sadly died just before Christmas 2023. In an emotional passage, he recalled finding their beloved horse Bertie “lying on his side, in a stream” on their property.
“It wasn’t a fun event, even for me, and I didn’t like it one bit,” he wrote. “When Lisa’s horse died, I was upset because I could see she was. And because I would have to deal with it.”
Although the pair tend to keep their relationship away from the spotlight, Lisa has shared the rare post about her beau on social media. On Friday, she shared a light-hearted message on Instagram in which she celebrated Jeremy’s 65th birthday.
“Congratulations for Finally achieving those Three Little Letters! After five and a half decades of service to King & country, and indeed across this fine globe, I’m so proud, & frankly astonished, you’ve earned Jeremy Clarkson OAP. Happy Birthday,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, back in December, Lisa shared a series of unseen photographs which showed the pair canoodling as she marked the anniversary of their first meeting, simply writing: “8 years today, I met Jeremy Clarkson.”
Prior to her relationship with the TV host, Lisa was married to Baron Steven Bentinck for 30 years. The pair, who split in 2011, share three children, Wolfe, Alice and Lizzy, together.
