A 64-year-old woman passed away outside an Asda store, as confirmed by the authorities.
Police and emergency medical services promptly responded to the retail location in Edinburgh, Scotland early this morning around 7 am. The woman was declared deceased at the site, with law enforcement stating that no foul play is suspected.
Upon receiving reports of a woman falling ill on New Market Road, three police vehicles and paramedics arrived on the scene. The sidewalk leading to the supermarket and its entrance steps were cordoned off for investigation.
A spokesperson from Police Scotland mentioned in a statement: “At approximately 7:05 am on Wednesday, December 10, we were informed of a woman in distress in the vicinity of New Market Road in Edinburgh.
“Emergency services arrived, and the 64-year-old woman was pronounced deceased on site. No suspicious activities have been identified.”
A representative from the Scottish Ambulance Service stated: “We received a call at 06:54 hours today to respond to an incident on New Mart Road in Edinburgh, dispatching multiple units to the location.”
