A 42-year-old man, identified as Lejunae Wood from Wuppertal, Germany, has been arrested at Heathrow Airport on Thursday on suspicion of murder in connection to the death of a 14-year-old boy who sustained injuries as an infant. Wood has now been formally charged with the murder of the victim, Leajunne Wood.
The incident dates back to December 2007 in Hayes, where the four-month-old Leajunne suffered severe injuries. Despite initial assessments indicating life-changing consequences, the tragic passing of Leajunne occurred on Monday, December 6, 2021, at the age of 14.
Following postmortem examinations conducted in 2023, it was determined that Leajunne’s demise was a result of complications arising from a severe head injury. Consequently, the Metropolitan Police initiated a murder inquiry into the case.
The family of the deceased has been notified of the developments and is receiving ongoing support from specialized officers. Lejunae Wood is scheduled to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, December 6.
