Images have emerged showing a student running along a street before disappearing, prompting a plea for information from the police.
Aryan Sharma, aged 20, was last seen in the early hours of November 23 on the outskirts of Loughborough, Leicestershire, around 12:30 am. He departed from his residence at approximately 9:30 pm and was last observed heading towards Stanford-on-the-Soar before vanishing.
According to Leicestershire Police, efforts are ongoing to locate Aryan Sharma, and they are seeking to communicate with anyone who might possess relevant information. The 20-year-old was last captured on CCTV on Meadow Lane, just outside Loughborough, at 12:30 am on Saturday, November 22. He was seen walking towards the Stanford on the Soar region after being in the town center a few hours earlier.
Extensive inquiries have been conducted to trace Aryan’s movements that night, but the police are eager to hear from any drivers or pedestrians who might have seen him walking along Meadow Lane, Stanford Lane, or the surrounding vicinity between 12:15 am and 2 am on Saturday morning. The investigative team is urging drivers to examine their dashcam footage from that timeframe.
Detective Inspector Jonathan Dickens stated, “We are reconstructing Ayran’s movements from the time he left his student accommodation in the Woodgate area of Loughborough at 9:20 pm on Friday night until he was last sighted at 12:30 am on Meadow Lane, walking away from the town center. Any additional sightings by witnesses, dash camera recordings, and CCTV footage are crucial to advancing our inquiries. Did you witness a man resembling Aryan’s description, clad in a lengthy black trench coat, strolling along the road in the early hours? Did you see or capture anything that could aid us in determining his subsequent whereabouts?”
The police’s statement elaborated, “Considerable police resources have been mobilized to assist in the missing person probe – including trained search personnel, police dogs, police divers, the National Police Air Service (NPAS), and specialized volunteers from Leicestershire Search and Rescue (SAR). In conjunction with the search efforts, officers and detectives have been scrutinizing numerous hours of CCTV footage, examining phone data, and collecting crucial details from individuals who have already come forward.
“Aryan is described as Asian, standing at 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a slender build and shoulder-length black hair. He was last seen wearing a black trench coat, shorts, and black sneakers with white accents.” Individuals able to provide assistance are urged to reach out to Leicestershire police on 101, quoting incident 208 of November 23.
