Laura Woods reassured fans about her well-being after collapsing on live TV during the England Lionesses’ match against Ghana. Woods, a 38-year-old broadcaster, fainted on air and was promptly assisted by pundits Ian Wright and Anita Asante before ITV cut to commercials.

During the game, which England won 2-0, Katie Shanahan stepped in for Woods and provided an update, stating that Woods was “doing okay” at halftime. Adam Collard, Woods’ fiancé, also confirmed her well-being on social media.

Taking to Instagram, Woods apologized for causing concern and explained that medical professionals attributed her fainting spell to a probable virus, recommending rest and hydration as treatment. She expressed gratitude to her ITV colleagues for their support and to Wright and Asante for their quick response.

ITV shared a message wishing Woods a speedy recovery on their social media account. Collard had earlier reassured well-wishers that Woods was in good hands. Shanahan also updated fans on Woods’ condition during the game, emphasizing that she was receiving care and sending love on behalf of the team.

Fans expressed their support for Woods and praised Wright and Asante for their assistance. The incident occurred just before the match started at St Mary’s Stadium in Southampton.

Sky has reduced the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the 2025/26 season, offering savings of £192 and access to over 1,400 live matches, including Premier League and EFL games. Sky will broadcast a minimum of 215 live Premier League matches next season, an increase of up to 100 matches.
