A student was discovered with severe injuries on Barbourne Road, Worcester, leading to a murder investigation following his subsequent death in the hospital. The victim, identified as Vijay Kumar, 30, was found at 4:15 am on November 25. Vijay, a student at a university in Bristol, was pronounced dead later that day.
Five individuals were taken into custody by West Mercia Police on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident. They have since been released on bail. Vijay’s family released a statement honoring him as someone who brought warmth, energy, and joy into their lives. They described him as a person who lived with purpose, passion, and a caring heart for his loved ones.
Detective Chief Inspector Lee Holehouse provided an update on the investigation, stating that efforts were ongoing to determine the circumstances leading to Vijay’s death.
