Aston Villa’s Europa League match against Young Boys was briefly halted when visiting fans clashed with authorities at Villa Park. The disturbance erupted after Donyell Malen scored to put Unai Emery’s team in the lead.

Malen was targeted by objects thrown at him after scoring both his goals, prompting tensions to rise among the away supporters and security personnel. Two individuals in black clothing were apprehended by police amidst the chaos.

Following Villa’s second goal, play was paused, and Young Boys’ captain, Loris Benito, intervened to urge their fans to act responsibly. Referee Georgi Kabakov and both team managers were seen discussing the situation on the sidelines.

Commentating during the live broadcast on TNT Sports, Sam Matterface expressed concern about the escalating violence in the stands, emphasizing the need for respectful behavior. Despite initial signs of calm, the situation quickly deteriorated with more disturbances and confrontations.

Although order was eventually restored within the away section, the match had to be briefly halted before resuming just before half-time.
