A school in Tynemouth, North Tyneside, has abruptly closed due to a potential critical threat, prompting the Principal to send an urgent message to parents. Kings Priory School relayed the closure notice through its ParentMail communication platform, assuring parents that further details would be provided in due course.

Principal Philip Sanderson informed parents on Sunday evening about the closure scheduled for Monday, November 24, 2025, citing the potential critical threat as the reason for the decision. He expressed regret over the situation and promised to share more information when appropriate, acknowledging the inconvenience caused and pledging to keep parents updated promptly.

Responding to the incident, a spokesperson from Northumbria Police disclosed that they had received a report of malicious communications aimed at a secondary school in North Tyneside around 4:30 pm the previous day.
