It seems like just yesterday when many of us were sitting down to watch Twilight for the first time.
Growing up, fans of the book series were captivated when they saw the vampire tales brought to life by Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.
While you may still watch the much-loved movies every now and then, you may be shocked to realise that Kristen Stewart actually turns 35 today (April 9).
It’s been around 17 years since we first saw the actress step into the shoes of Bella Swan, but fans can remember the moment greatly. They’re films that are still adored by millions of people today.
However, even dedicated fans may not realise that Stewart actually had a “secret” blooper in the film that was never released to the public – and there’s a good reason why. A YouTube video is on hand to tell fans all about it, and it could educate even the greatest fans of the franchise.
Apparently, creators of the film decided not to release it at the time as it was considered as Not Safe for Work (NSFW). Actor Jackson Rathbone, who took on the role of Jasper Hale, revealed there’s actually a compilation of clips in archives, which were never released.
Rathbone told Collider that the clips saw Stewart exclaim a number of swearwords. He revealed: “There was one time where they put out a special blooper screening – I think this is for ‘Breaking Dawn’ or ‘Eclipse’ – where it was just every time Kristen curses.
“It was like, when she’s messing up her lines… It’s like eight minutes long. It is amazing.”
There were a number of movies in the Twilight franchise, which include Twilight (2008), The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009), Eclipse (2010), Breaking Dawn (2011) and Breaking Dawn Part 2 (2012).
Post-Twilight, the actress went on to have a varied career. It may come as no surprise to fans, as the series actually ranks among the highest-grossing film franchises ever and also bagged Stewart the BAFTA Rising Star Award in 2010.
After she starred in the fantasy film Snow White and the Huntsman in 2012, the actress decided to focus on working on independent productions as opposed to big-budget films.
She spent a few years working on dramas such as Camp X-Ray (2014), Still Alice (2014) and Equals (2016). She also gained much recognition for her performance in Olivier Assayas’ drama film Clouds of Sils Maria (2014), which won her the César Award for Best Supporting Actress.
As well as this, she went on to work with Assayas again in the supernatural thriller Personal Shopper (2016). She then made her directorial debut with the short film Come Swim (2017).
More recently, Stewart returned to mainstream Hollywood with leading roles in the action film Charlie’s Angels (2019), as well as the romantic comedy Happiest Season (2020). She also played Diana, Princess of Wales in Pablo Larraín’s biographical drama Spencer (2021), which helped bag her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress.
It’s fair to say the star has come a long way since the Twilight series aired nearly 20 years ago. Only time will tell what life has next in store for the star.
