A male suspect faces arson charges in connection with a series of house fires in Ashby, Leicestershire. The incidents occurred on Holywell Avenue, Prestop Drive, and Clifton Drive on Friday morning, prompting emergency services to respond swiftly. Three individuals, including two teenagers and a woman, sustained burn injuries and smoke inhalation but are in stable condition.
Law enforcement apprehended a 50-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder in relation to the incidents. The suspect has been formally charged with dangerous driving and three counts of arson with intent to endanger life by Leicestershire Police. Following his arrest, the man remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
