A major collision involving multiple vehicles caused significant traffic disruption on the A2 in Kent throughout the day. The eastbound carriageway was shut down between the B255 near Bean (Bluewater) and the A227 near Gravesend, with emergency services swiftly on the scene.

After thorough collision investigations by Kent Police and the clearing of spillages, the road finally reopened around 7.45pm. National Highways South-East confirmed the reopening and ongoing efforts to clear the spillage and ensure the safety of the central reservation barrier.

The closure was initially expected to last until 6pm, with no estimated time for the A2 reopening between Ebbsfleet and Gravesend. Motorists were advised to follow diversion routes, with the situation being continuously monitored for updates.

Kent Police conducted accident investigations following the multi-vehicle crash, leading to extended road closures and significant delays for commuters. Travelers were urged to plan for extra travel time and follow alternative routes as necessary.
