A mother of four and teaching assistant, Chantelle Riley, 47, residing in Castle Bromwich, has achieved a significant win in the lottery for the third time. She is among 18 neighbors who will share a total prize of £1 million, with each recipient receiving £50,000 from the People’s Postcode Lottery.

Chantelle has a history of lottery success, having previously won £14,221 and £1,078 in previous draws. Her fortunate streak seems to have spread to those close to her as well. By persuading her partner to participate in the lottery, he also secured a £50,000 win, alongside 16 other winners in their B36 area.

As a teaching assistant at a special educational needs school, Chantelle plans to use her winnings to purchase the home she has been renting for the past six years and spoil her first grandchild, expected next month, according to Birmingham Live.

Expressing her astonishment, Chantelle stated, “I can’t believe it. I’m feeling kind of numb. It’s unreal. I won £14,000 in the B36 9 postcode, which is literally across the road. And then two years ago I won again at that postcode. And now this my third win and my biggest. I feel very lucky.”

The residents of Auckland Drive, including Chantelle, became winners of the Millionaire Street prize when the winning postcode of B36 0RX was announced last Saturday. Each winning ticket was valued at £50,000, with one individual tripling their prize to £150,000 by playing with three tickets. This win marks the sixth postcode to receive £1 million in the past six days.

In the People’s Postcode Lottery this week, seven postcodes collectively won £7 million, with another postcode scheduled to win £1 million on Sunday.

Castle Bromwich has experienced its third major lottery jackpot in the past 11 years. In February 2014, a neighboring postcode to Chantelle’s, B36 9, secured a £2 million win, with many residents sharing £3.2 million in July 2022.

Despite relocating twice since her initial Postcode Lottery win, Chantelle has remained an active player, purchasing tickets for her current postcode and her two previous addresses.

Reflecting on her persistence, Chantelle mentioned, “I’ve moved a few times, and I kept my tickets going at each address. I didn’t want to miss out if any of my postcodes came up. Last time I won, my sister said, ‘Well, I’m not going to sign up for Postcode Lottery because you won’t win again round here.’ Now I have… and she’s kicking herself.”

Chantelle’s partner is equally grateful for their stroke of luck. “A few months ago, I said to him, ‘You need to start playing because just in case we do win, we’ll both get it,” she shared.

“It’s amazing to win with so many people on my street. I’m so happy for next door as they’ve won as well,” Chantelle added.
