A tragic incident at a workplace in Cambridgeshire has claimed the life of a 19-year-old girl, Žavinta Petrašiūtė. The young girl passed away at Pretoria Energy Mepal near Chatteris earlier this week.
Cambridgeshire Police responded to the plant at 3pm on Monday following the accident, and authorities are conducting investigations, according to a spokesperson from Cambridgeshire Constabulary.
The father of the teenager took to Facebook to express heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of support during this difficult time of losing their daughter. The family was overwhelmed by the kindness and warmth shown by countless individuals.
In response to the tragedy, a fundraiser has been launched to assist Petrašiūtė’s family in repatriating her body to Lithuania. The fundraising page organizer, Ernestas Mag, highlighted the devastating loss suffered by Alan and Ieva, emphasizing the need for support. The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently being looked into.
Described as a bright, hardworking, and kind individual, Petrašiūtė was cherished by all who knew her, as stated on the GoFundMe page. The family’s primary wish is to bring her back to Lithuania for a final resting place near her loved ones, despite the significant costs associated with repatriation and funeral arrangements.
