Oasis fans convinced something big is coming before sold-out tour starts

Published:

Oasis fans are anticipating another announcement before the iconic band’s upcoming tour.

Brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher have sent the music world into a frenzy by confirming a reunion for Oasis with sold-out concerts around the globe. It will mark their first time back on stage together since 2009.

As the starting date of July 4 edges closer, the Oasis faithful are not just thrilled about the comeback but also wonder if there could be more surprises in store.

Hopeful supporters took to r/Oasis subreddit debating the possibilities. One fan speculated: “New album? Do we think an album is coming before the tour starts?”

While some dismissed the likelihood of new tunes dropping before the live gigs, others referred to Pulp’s recent announcement as proof that news could be imminent.

However, others weren’t convinced. One critic said: “No chance. The tour starts in July. We would’ve had an announcement already if an album was coming out before the tour.”

As the hotly anticipated Oasis reunion tour grows closer, the Mirror has launched its very own Oasis WhatsApp community where you’ll get all the latest news on the Gallagher brothers and all the information you’ll need in the run up to the gigs.

In contrast, another user pointed out: “Pulp only just announced their album. That comes in June.” But a third person expressed a hope for Oasis to stick with their classic hits.

They wrote: “I hope they don’t release a new album (I don’t think they will in general, to be honest) until after the tour. This is our first time seeing them since 2009, the set should be nothing but the hits and fan favourites.”

A Reddit user suggested that if there were any plans for new material, word would have emerged by now. They wrote: “You’d know by now if they were releasing anything.”

The same user added: “Also I doubt a new album ever comes. They wouldn’t have discussed it. If they were to do anything it would be after the tour, no reason to release anything before.”

Yet, some fans are dreaming of an ideal scenario where Oasis could treat them to a best of both worlds experience, releasing an album post-tour.

One optimistic fan shared their thoughts, adding: “Doesn’t make sense. Do a reunion tour with the greatest hits, then if they want do a new album and tour that later. Double whammy.”

Another suggested: “I think a single is possible but obviously they need it to drum up interest in the shows.”

With the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ iconic album “What’s the Story, Morning Glory” approaching this October, some fans are holding out for a special anniversary edition.

A hopeful fan speculated: “Best we might get this year is a What’s the Story, Morning Glory 30th anniversary set – not sure what that’ll include: maybe some unearthed, never before heard masterpieces … or maybe just some demos.”
