Welcome to the Mirror’s Daily Digest, where we’ll be pulling together all the best stories of the day from our News, Showbiz, Sport teams and more. This Tuesday we’re featuring everything from renewed royal drama to Grand National fallout and chaos from the Celebrity Big Brother live launch last night.

Our Royal team has been working overtime today following the news that Harry had arrived in the UK for a shock court appearance on the same day Charles and Camilla set off on their 4-day Italian tour. Meanwhile, our Showbiz team have been dealing with the fallout from Mickey Rourke’s controversial CBB appearance and uncovering what it’s really like to go on A Place in the Sun.

Following Harry’s surprising arrival in London, our royals team have been stretched thin, covering the Prince’s court appearance alongside Meghan’s podcast launch and Charles’ State Visit to Italy. On his way into the Royal Courts of Justice, Harry brushed off any questions about his father King Charles, with reports suggesting they did not meet yesterday despite being in the same country.

During the hearing, the court was told the Duke of Sussex believes he was “singled out for inferior treatment” and “forced to step back” from royal life as he made another bid to have his taxpayer-funded security reinstated. Harry is challenging the dismissal of his High Court legal action against the Home Office over the decision to scale back his taxpayer funded protection when in the UK.

During a previous court appearance over security arrangements, it was said that Harry believes his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet cannot “feel at home” in the UK if it is “not possible to keep them safe” there. The Home Office is defending the appeal and has asked judges to dismiss the challenge and award costs.

This Tuesday, our Politics team have been listening in to Keir Starmer’s appearance at the Liaison Committee. During the wide-ranging grilling, the PM was confronted by a Labour MP, who said disabled people had told her they are ‘full of panic’ over controversial benefit cuts.

Sarah Owen told Mr Starmer that the reforms had caused ‘quite a bit of stress’ for some who may lose their DWP support. The MP continued to read out examples of concerned Brits from her own inbox, saying: “I am beyond stressed with anticipation of losing money – I have £700 to live on this month.”

Another said: “The proposed cuts to disability benefits have left me full of panic about the future and extremely let down.” Pressed on a response, Keir Starmer insisted the government would continue to help those who “do need support and protection”.

Meanwhile, our Showbiz team have been dealing with the fallout from the Celebrity Big Brother live launch last night (Monday 7 April). It’s safe to show the ITV reality show’s opening episode didn’t disappoint as it welcomed a whole host of famous faces to the infamous Big Brother House.

Mickey Rourke’s chaotic debut definitely made an impression on viewers, who were left feeling ‘uncomfortable’ by his appearance on the show. The Wrestler star then passed out cold before having a row with one of his housemates.

Elsewhere, there was a health emergency, followed by a mad challenge – as well as several digs from presenters, Alan Carr and AJ Odudu about a certain housemate’s behaviour. If you’re curious about other chaos you might have missed behind closed doors, check out the our full rundown below.

Earlier this Tuesday, our Sports team broke the heartbreaking news that Celebre D’Allen, who collapsed after running in the Grand National on Saturday, has passed away. . A 125-1 chance for the big races he was one of two horses who required veterinary attention in the immediate aftermath of the race.

Finally, we’ve uncovered what it’s really like to go on A Place in the Sun after one karaoke-loving Brit has become an unexpected local celebrity in Alicante. Neil Williams, a self-proclaimed “Piano Man killer” on karaoke nights, travelled with his wife Jane to Spain in search of a sunny escape from the grey skies of Britain.

After their quest for Mediterranean bliss – and a family-sized bolthole – featured on Channel 4’s A Place in the Sun, their daughter, Daily Star Assistant News Editor Kelly Williams, shared how the announcement of their TV debut was initially met with groans of dread. However, despite being hit by some of the worst storms in nearly a century during the shoot, Neil and Jane powered through, with a clear vision for what they wanted.

After viewing several homes with presenter Leah Charles-King, they finally settled on a charming three-bed townhouse in Gran Alacant. For Neil, it’s karaoke heaven. He’s become a regular fixture at The Pub – a local bar where he often takes over the mic from resident Scottish crooner Kev with cringe-worthy renditions of Copacabana and Dignity. Locals, many of them fellow Brits, can’t get enough.
