Singer Katy Perry has promised to put “the ‘ass’ in astronaut” as she prepares to launch herself into space – and she’ll be saying goodbye to some cheeky times with fiancé Orlando Bloom for while.
The star is the final stages of preparation before she embarks on a BlueOrigin space flight with an all-female crew. The American pop sensation will be part of the first female-only mission in over sixty years, alongside five other women – and it will be a man-free zone.
Orlando proposed to Katy on Valentine’s day back in 2019, but the loved-up couple are yet to make it down the aisle. They were originally set to tie the knot in 2020, but their plans were derailed when they couldn’t secure their dream location. They then had to change their wedding plans again during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Katy, ex-NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, civil rights campaigner Amanda Nguyen, film producer Kerianne Flynn, and journalist Lauren Sanchez are gearing up for their mission as they prepare to blast off on Jeff Bezos’ space tourism rocket with CBS presenter Gayle King.
It won’t be long before Katy and Orlando are reunited, and she will miss her long-time beau as she experiences space travel. The pair aren’t shy about detailing their private life – and the singer is certainly a bit of a Dark Horse!
The singer hit the headlines after revealing the X-rated way she rewards Orlando for helping out around the house. Katy, who shares daughter four-year-old Daisy Dove with the British actor, confessed during an interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast that her “love language” is cleaning the kitchen.
“If I come downstairs and the kitchen is clean, and you’ve done it all, and you’ve done all the dishes, and you’ve closed all the pantry doors, you better be ready to get your d**k sucked,” she stated, as host Alex Cooper laughed hysterically. “I mean literally. I don’t need a red Ferrari! I can buy a red Ferrari. Just do the f***ing dishes! I will suck your d**k! It’s that easy.”
They first began dating in January 2016 and briefly split a year later before rekindling their romance in March 2018. When opening up up on the energy in the household, the pop star confessed she calls the clan the “chaos crew”.
“We are a loud family,” Katy said. “We are fire fire fire,” she told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe while promoting her latest album titled 143, which is out now. Touching on their arguments in their relationship, Katy confessed: “Orlando and I, when we argue, we argue kinda hot and fast and then cool really quickly,” Perry explained. “It’s like, ‘La la la la la, I love you. Alright, let’s move on.”
She also revealed the “ego” they both have as she opened up on her man’s energy as a romantic partner. “He’s a real sage,” she began. “We both have parts of ourselves. There’s two parts of us, our highest good, and then our carnal, material self. Ego. When the ego is running the show, then it’s like, ‘Whoa.’ But when that’s in check, then we’re both something else.”
