Popstar Peter Andre revealed he almost “passed out” while riding on the world’s fastest rollercoaster. The dad of five was enjoying a sun-soaked Easter half-term family trip with wife Emily, 35, in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, when they visited the Ferrari World theme park on Yas Island.
Chatting exclusively to OK! after the visit, Pete admitted he wasn’t quite prepared for the full force of the Formula Rossa rollercoaster, which reaches a terrifying 149mph (240 km/h) in just 4.9 seconds. “I thought I was going to pass out, but thankfully I didn’t,” he revealed. “We were on an amazing holiday, and the ride was absolutely phenomenal and goes at 240km/h.”
Pete and Emily took their three youngest children on the trip – Amelia, 11, Theo, eight, and baby Arabella, one – and were also joined by Peter’s older two, Junior, 18, and Princess, 17.
The trip came shortly after Arabella Rose’s first birthday earlier this month, when the doting parents shared an adorable tribute – revealing they couldn’t believe how fast the time had gone.
“How is our baby 1 already?! @peterandre,” Emily wrote on Instagram. “Time, please slow down. From teeny tiny to full of personality — Happy Birthday to our very own Baby Belle.”
The couple also shared a sweet photo of the youngster, dressed in a pink top and a pink bow in her black hair to match the colour of her birthday arch and balloons.
Chatting to us about the special milestone, Pete revealed the family kept the celebrations low-key.
“Arabella’s first birthday was brilliant and she really enjoyed herself,” he said. We kept it very, very small and had a couple of friends over. It was just about celebrating her beautiful milestone.”
After returning from the UAE, Mysterious Girl singer Pete is now preparing for the premiere of his new film Jafaican, which is released in his native Australia in a few weeks.
According to the film’s IMDB listing, “Gazza, a small-time crook, seeks £35,000 for his gran’s care. He overhears a tip, devising a scheme. In 21 days, he must master Jamaican culture to execute a fraud in London and Jamaica, facing life-threatening risks.”
Pete, 52, says he can’t wait to see it hit the big screen, adding: “I will be flying to Australia for the film premier in the next couple of weeks and then back to the UK for the premier here. Dates will follow soon so watch this space. Exciting times.”
