Celebrity Big Brother chaos you didn’t see – Mickey Rourke out cold to first row

Published:

Celebrity Big Brother didn’t disappoint last night when it welcomed a whole host of famous faces to the house – but it’s what we didn’t see that brought the real drama. Fans were already gobsmacked after The Wrestler star, Mickey Rourke’s chaotic debut, but then he passed out cold before having a row with one of his housemates.

Elsewhere, there was a health emergency, followed by a mad challenge – as well as several digs from presenters, Alan Carr and AJ Odudu about a certain housemate’s behaviour. So, as we look forward to tonight’s instalment from the famous house, here’s all the chaos you missed as Celebrity Big Brother got underway…

Celebrity Big Brother was thrown into turmoil on Monday night’s launch show as medics and security were forced to step in.

An audience member reportedly ‘fell ill and needed medical attention’ at the end of the final rehearsal before the 90-minute live show.

The incident – which didn’t air on TV – saw medical staff and security guards rush to help the woman and remove her from the crowd just before the iconic opening music started to play.

According to The Sun, an onlooker said: “AJ [Odudu] and Will [Best] were both shocked as they weren’t sure what was happening. However, they continued like pros and those watching at home would have had no idea anything was wrong.

“It took about four guards and medical staff to help the woman up and had they not have acted quickly the incident would have been right in shot.”

After making a chaotic entrance into the house on Monday following a toe-curling interaction with host, AJ, Mickey appeared to have let the excitement of the night get the better of him as he was spotted passed out cold on the sofa.

During the live stream at midnight, the American actor, 72, appeared to be asleep under a grey blanket while the rest of the housemates, including Daley Thompson and Angellica Bell, stayed up chatting, getting to know one another.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, fans were torn about his choice to skip out on the action and ignore the no-sleeping rule. “Not Mickey asleep already gonna be such a dud housemate,” one person said, while another reasoned: “I honestly don’t blame Mickey for going to sleep on that couch, I’d be shattered too if it was like half 1 and they hadn’t opened the bedrooms yet.”

Just moments after being introduced to the studio crowd and viewers at home, Mickey, who is known for his roles in 9 1/2 Weeks, Barfly and Year of the Dragon, angered fans due to his “inappropriate” behaviour towards host, AJ.

As the crowd cheered his name, he continued to gaze at the Strictly Come Dancing star and looked her up and down before grabbing her, purring: “I’m gonna stay with you”.

He then tried to take the presenter into the house with him, as AJ politely pushed him towards the stairs as she warned him: “Stop looking at me!”

In the spin-off show, she made it clear she wasn’t standing for any nonsense, looking down the barrel of the camera, saying: “You can’t afford these feathers, Mickey,” referencing her show-stopping outfit.

The uncomfortable scenes certainly sparked a reaction on social media with many being left in complete disbelief. One viewer penned on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Well… Mickey’s just landed himself some Ofcom complaints. #cbbuk.” A second added: “I feel bad for AJ with the way Mickey Rourke kept pulling out her.”

Also hitting out at Mickey’s behaviour was Chatty Man star, Alan. Talking to AJ on the spin-off show, Late and Live, he brought up the actor’s cringeworthy behaviour, asking AJ: “Can we talk about Mickey Rourke looking at you? Wow his eyes!”

Pointing out his toe-curling debut, he added, with a glint in his eye: “Find someone who looks at you the way Mickey looks at you [AJ]. His tongue was hanging out.”

Having bowled into the house, looking somewhat disorientated, Mickey ruffled his housemates feathers by later strolling into the special ‘Prize Room’, without asking for their permission.

Explaining that viewers will get to see another side of the former boxer on tonight’s episode, host, Will Best, told viewers on This Morning: “It was going to be open to the vote amongst them, ‘Who do you think gets to go into that special prize room?’”

Revealing that Mickey wasted no time in nominating himself, he continued: “Mickey said ‘Me’ and got up and walked in, and Danny Beard was saying, ‘No Mickey, we’re going to decide this.’ So Mickey’s like ‘I’m going in’ … and he just sort of stumbled his way in.”

Explaining that people will probably assume the actor is going to be “very selfish”, he added: “So immediately you think, OK, Mickey is going to take it upon himself to be… he’s going to be very selfish in there, but I don’t want to give too much away, it’s going to be all on the show tonight.

“But I think his choices in that room might surprise people, and actually, he might have gone in there with more of an altruistic attitude.

“So I think it’s going to be this kind of interesting thing of like, you think he’s going to be one thing, maybe he’s going to be something else, or maybe not.”

Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on ITV
