Strictly Come Dancing’s Kai Widdrington shared heartbreaking news as he remembered Brenda, a woman he recently honoured on The One Show’s Big Thank You segment. Posting an image of himself planting a tender kiss on Brenda’s cheek, Kai penned on his social media page: “I was so sad to hear that the star of our One Show Big Thank You, Brenda, has passed away.
“She was an amazing woman and it was genuinely an honour to meet her. My sincere condolences to her family – Brenda – thanks for all you did for everyone – your legacy will live on, rest well.”
A mere six days ago, Kai had delighted Brenda with not just a cake but also a gathering in her honour on The One Show’s Big Thank You initiative, aiming to spotlight individuals who go the extra mile to assist the less fortunate.
A staunch supporter of cancer research funding following her own fight with the illness, Brenda gave her time generously to the cause.
In a touching video Kai shared, we see him dashing over to acknowledge Brenda’s remarkable charity work, while she fights back tears during the poignant event.
Reflecting on this moment, Kai commented: “This week’s #OneBigThankYou goes to Brenda, who despite facing her own cancer journey, has dedicated her life to helping other people in a similar situation.”
Kai gushed over meeting the inspirational Brenda, who tirelessly fundraises for cancer research, sharing snaps with her as he wrote: “What an incredible privilege it was to meet the amazing Brenda!
“Her dedication to raising funds for cancer research is truly inspiring. A heartfelt thank you to Brenda, her family and friends for all that you do and for allowing me to be part of your special day.
“Also, a big shoutout to The One Show for the wonderful opportunity and for making the One Big Thank You. Together, we can make a difference!”, reports the Express.
