Housemate Ella Rae Wise was seen in tears on Celebrity Big Brother tonight whilst reflecting on her break-up from Dan Edgar. The reality TV star was consoled by two co-stars as she spoke about the “fresh” situation on the ITV show.
Ella, 24, was among the celebrities who entered the Big Brother house on Monday night during in the live launch of the new series. Her entrance came amid the news that Ella had announced that she had split up from Dan, 34, whom she has appeared alongside on the Only Way is Essex.
Their separation has since been brought up on Celebrity Big Brother. It was briefly discussed on tonight’s episode in a scene that showed Ella sitting in the bedroom of the star-studded house with JoJo Siwa, 21, and Angellica Bell, 49.
JoJo asked her in the scene: “So you’re single now?” Ella responded to the question: “Yeah.” Angellica then asked: “And you split up just before you came in here?” Ella nodded and confirmed that it was “just before” she entered the house.
Clarifying the situation, JoJo questioned: “Wait, I’m sorry. You just broke up?” Ella – who has been on TOWIE since 2019 – confirmed that was the case before her co-star added: “Oh, I’m sorry babe. I thought this was a long time thing.”
Ella commented: “Like a week ago.” Angellica described the situation as “fresh” and just moments later viewers saw reality TV star Ella getting emotional as she spoke about her ex-partner with the two other housemates.
After sharing that she was “alright,” Ella was seen in tears as JoJo and Angellica consoled her. She told them: “Thank you. It’s just one of them things. I just feel like an idiot because everyone … I just knew he weren’t gonna be what I wanted him to be. And I thought maybe he might for me but he’s just …”
She continued: “And I don’t want to waste years trying to change someone. Do you know what I mean?” Angellica responded: “That just shows strength.” Ella then added: “Just have to let it be. It doesn’t mean we can’t be friends.”
It comes after Ella announced that she had split up from Dan shortly before entering the Big Brother house. She has said that while their chemistry’s undeniable, she wanted more from the romance than just physical attraction.
Speaking to the Sun, she confirmed that they are “not together,” which she said was “really sad”. Ella told the outlet that they split up “a week ago” and assured that the end of their 18 month relationship had “nothing” to do with her taking part in the new series of Big Brother.
She said: “It was a decision that I had to make because I didn’t feel that we were getting things that we wanted out of each other.” She added: “We can be best friends, but if something’s missing, what are we wasting our time for?”
Sharing her thoughts, Ella suggested that Dan is “very set in his ways,” adding that she can’t “expect someone to change”. She added: “And if he’s comfortable in how he is and if he thinks what he gives in a relationship is enough, that’s okay because that can be enough for someone.” Ella continued by stating that it’s “just not enough” for her though.
