Celebrity Big Brother’s Daley Thompson dealt major blow just hours before live launch

Published:

Celebrity Big Brother‘s Daley Thompson has been hit with a major blow just hours before the live launch. Tonight, fans will see a whole host of famous faces swap their glittering lives for a period of time locked inside England’s most famous house as they battle it out to be crowned the winner.

This year, the likes of Daley, Angellica Bell, Chris Hughes, Patsy Palmer, JoJo Siwa, Trisha Goddard, Sir Michael Fabricant and Mickey Rourke will all walk through the famous Big Brother eye and be greeted by hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best. But it appears that luck hasn’t been on Daley’s side.

While the show is yet to kick off, two housemates have already become clear favourites and it appears that Olympian Daley is at the other end of the scale. Betfred’s Kayley Cornelius said: “Even before this year’s housemates have stepped into the Big Brother House, two celebrities are already leading the betting markets.

“Punters appear to be getting behind Love Island’s Chris Hughes and Corrie’s Jack P. Shepherd, both currently joint favourites with odds of 7/2. They’re closely followed by Ella Rae Wise at 5/1 and Danny Beard at 13/2. That said, we fully expect these odds to shift once all the housemates have had time to settle into their new house life!”

Currently, the odds to win stand at 7/2 for Chris, 7/2 for Jack P. Shepherd, 5/1 for The Only Way Is Essex star Ella Rae Wise, 13/2 for Drag Race’s Danny Beard, 7/1 for Donna Preston, 8/1 for EastEnders legend Patsy, 11/1 for Dance Mom’s JoJo Siwa, 12/1 for chat show legend Trisha Goddard/

14/1 for Chesney Hawkes, 16/1 for kids TV presenter Angellica Bell, 20/1 for former Tory MP Sir Michael Fabricant, 25/1 for Hollywood royalty Mickey Rourke and 25/1 for Daley. While fans eagerly wait to see the celebs enter the house, there has been some huge changes behind the scenes this year.

One of which is a change in location. The Celebrity Big Brother house has been moved to a “brand-new secret location”. It will host “a new batch of VIPs” ready to take on TV’s OG social experiment. But that’s not all – while fans have seen a mezzanine level in the house in recent years, this has been axed by bosses.

Host Will said: “No mezzanine, but instead of the mezzanine, we’ve been assured that there will be other interesting and surprising features of the house.”

Elsewhere, the house has had a major face lift. Housemates will walk into an open-plan kitchen and living area and like previous years, is likely to become the centre of a string of explosive feuds. Two giant sofas make up the living area, while celebs will eat and argue over a long dining table.

While the famous faces are more likely used to large private bedroom areas, they’ll be getting their heads down on one of the 11 single beds with just several inches between them. However, there is one double bed in the centre of the room with a star above the bed, which could be reserved for a special housemate.

Last year saw a star-studded line-up which included the likes of Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh, Colson Smith and several other notable names.

It was David Potts who was crowned winner after a series full of celeb gossip and drama. Celebrity Big Brother launches tonight at 9pm on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player following months of anticipation over the line-up.
