Images capturing Storm Amy’s havoc in the UK show collapsed buildings, fallen trees, and power outages. Seaside hotspots like Brighton and Bournemouth were deserted, with gloomy skies in the storm’s aftermath. Despite the chaos, some individuals were spotted heading towards a diving tower in Ireland.

In other areas, despite the inclement weather, people in Leeds were seen venturing out for a night on the town, while commuters in London continued to cycle. The Met Office issued a yellow wind warning for the entire UK and an amber warning for “damaging” winds exceeding 90mph in parts of northern Scotland.

Scotland, particularly the Highlands, experienced severe power outages due to Storm Amy, with winds reaching up to 100mph in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) are working to restore power to 62,000 customers, with 16,500 customers already reconnected by Saturday morning.

Due to the storm’s strong winds, all eight of London’s royal parks, including Hyde Park and Richmond Park, were closed on Saturday. The closure extended to park facilities, sports venues, and shops as a precautionary measure.

In North Yorkshire, flooding occurred at Gayle Beck Hawes, while in Galway, Ireland, two daring swimmers braved the Blackrock diving tower. Additionally, a Buzz Lightyear toy was pictured navigating floods in North Yorkshire, and a car was damaged by a collapsing building in Glasgow. Other scenes included partygoers in Leeds, limited beach activity in Bournemouth, cyclists in London, monstrous waves in Brighton, a fallen tree in Manchester, and individuals seeking shelter from the rain in Liverpool city center.
