If you have some extra space on your couch, there are hundreds of thousands of animals in need of safe and loving homes, just like yours.

To commemorate the Global Adoption Weekend from October 3 to 5, 2025, Mars, a leading pet food company worldwide, is teaming up with shelters across the UK to aid numerous pets in finding their forever families.

According to recent data, there are currently 139,100 cats and dogs awaiting adoption in shelters. Studies have also shown that 87% of pet owners in the UK believe that having pets has improved their well-being.

Well-known personalities such as Shailene Woodley have joined forces with Mars and the mental wellness company Calm to emphasize the positive impact pets have on mental health, urging individuals to consider adoption.

Mars is dedicated to facilitating more adoptions and is offering adoption boxes and a three-month Calm subscription to assist new pet parents in navigating the initial days of pet ownership.
